Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 11, 2025
Introduction
BIT2XMR ("we," "our," or "us") operates a cryptocurrency swap service that facilitates exchanges between Bitcoin (BTC) and Monero (XMR). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our service.
Our Core Privacy Principle: We are committed to privacy by design. We do not collect, store, or retain personal information about our users. This policy outlines what minimal data we process and how we handle it.
Information We Do NOT Collect
To maintain your privacy, we explicitly do NOT collect the following:
- Personal identification information (name, address, date of birth, etc.)
- Email addresses or phone numbers
- Government-issued identification documents
- IP addresses (we do not log or store IP addresses)
- Browser fingerprints or device identifiers
- Location data or geolocation information
- Account credentials (we do not require account creation)
- Payment information beyond the cryptocurrency addresses you provide
- Any information that could be used to identify you personally
Information We Process Temporarily
During an active swap transaction, we temporarily process the following information to facilitate the exchange:
Order IDs
A unique identifier generated for each swap transaction. This is used to track the status of your swap and is displayed to you during the transaction process.
Cryptocurrency Addresses
Bitcoin deposit addresses (generated by us) and Monero receiving addresses (provided by you). These are necessary to process the swap transaction.
Transaction Amounts
The amount of Bitcoin being swapped and the corresponding Monero amount to be sent. This information is required to execute the exchange.
Exchange Rates
The exchange rate applied to your swap, which is locked when you confirm the transaction.
Transaction Status
The current status of your swap (pending, confirmed, completed, etc.) to allow you to track progress.
Acceleration Information (Optional)
If you choose to accelerate your transaction, you may optionally provide your Bitcoin transaction ID (TxID) or the Bitcoin address you're sending from. This information helps us locate and verify your Bitcoin transaction faster.
Important: All of the above information is stored temporarily on secure servers during an active swap. This data is automatically deleted when the swap completes or expires, ensuring no long-term retention of transaction details.
Data Retention and Deletion
We are committed to minimizing data retention to protect your privacy:
Server-Side Data
All Order IDs, transaction records, and associated data stored on our servers are permanently deleted within two (2) hours of swap completion. This includes all records of cryptocurrency addresses, amounts, exchange rates, and transaction statuses.
Temporary Session Data
Any temporary data used during your active session is automatically cleared when the swap completes or your session ends. We do not use persistent storage mechanisms (cookies, long-term storage, etc.) for transaction data.
No Long-Term Records
We do not maintain databases, logs, or archives of completed transactions. Once data is deleted, it cannot be recovered or accessed, even by us.
Note: While we delete our records, blockchain transactions are permanent and public. Bitcoin transactions are visible on the Bitcoin blockchain, and Monero transactions benefit from Monero's privacy features. We have no control over blockchain data.
How We Use Information
The minimal information we process is used solely for the following purposes:
- To facilitate and process cryptocurrency swap transactions
- To generate unique Bitcoin deposit addresses for each swap
- To track transaction status and provide you with updates
- To calculate exchange rates and transaction fees
- To send Monero to your specified receiving address upon Bitcoin confirmation
We do NOT use your information for:
- Marketing or advertising purposes
- Creating user profiles or tracking behavior
- Sharing with third parties
- Analytics or data analysis beyond transaction processing
- Any purpose other than facilitating your swap transaction
No Know Your Customer (KYC) Requirements
BIT2XMR does not require Know Your Customer (KYC) verification. This means:
- No identity verification is required to use our service
- No government-issued identification documents are requested
- No proof of address or personal information is collected
- No account creation or registration is necessary
- You can use our service completely anonymously
This policy is fundamental to our service and reflects our commitment to financial privacy. We do not collect information that would allow us to identify users, and therefore we cannot provide such information to third parties, even if requested.
Third-Party Services
Our service may interact with the following third-party services:
Cryptocurrency Price Data
We fetch real-time exchange rates from cryptocurrency price APIs (such as CoinGecko). These services may log API requests, but they do not receive any personal information from us, as we do not collect or transmit such information.
Blockchain Networks
We interact with the Bitcoin and Monero blockchains to process transactions. Blockchain transactions are public (Bitcoin) or private (Monero), but we do not transmit any personal information to these networks beyond the necessary transaction data.
Hosting and Infrastructure
Our website is hosted on standard web hosting infrastructure. While hosting providers may log connection data, we do not store or process personal information that could be associated with such logs.
Legal Requirements and Law Enforcement
In the event that we receive a legal request (such as a subpoena, court order, or law enforcement request) for user information:
- We will comply with valid legal requests to the extent required by applicable law
- However, due to our privacy-by-design approach and minimal data retention, we typically have no information to provide
- Order IDs and transaction data are deleted promptly after swap completion, so requests received after this period cannot be fulfilled
- We do not maintain records that could identify users, so even if we wanted to provide such information, we would be unable to do so
We will notify users of any legal requests to the extent permitted by law, though in practice, we may not have contact information to provide such notice.
Security Measures
While we minimize data collection, we implement security measures to protect the minimal data we process:
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all connections to our website
- Cryptocurrency address validation to prevent errors
- Rate locking to protect against price fluctuations
- Automated data deletion to minimize exposure
- No persistent storage of sensitive transaction data
Your Rights
Under various privacy laws (such as GDPR, CCPA), you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. However, because we do not collect personal information:
- Right to Access: We have no personal information to provide access to
- Right to Deletion: All data is automatically deleted promptly after swap completion
- Right to Correction: We do not maintain records that could be corrected
- Right to Portability: We have no personal information to export
- Right to Object: We do not use data for purposes you could object to
If you have questions about your privacy rights or this policy, you may contact us, though we may not have information to verify your identity or associate with a specific transaction.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. However, because we do not collect age information or personal identification, we cannot verify user ages. We do not knowingly process information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used our service, please contact us.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
Material changes to our privacy practices will be prominently displayed on our website. However, because we do not collect contact information, we cannot notify users directly of policy changes.
Your continued use of our service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Note: Due to our privacy-by-design approach and lack of account creation, we may not be able to verify your identity or associate your inquiry with a specific transaction. Please provide your Order ID (if still available) when contacting us about a specific transaction.
Important Disclaimer
This Privacy Policy describes our current practices. While we are committed to privacy by design, users should be aware that blockchain transactions are permanent and may be traceable depending on the cryptocurrency used. We cannot control or modify blockchain data once transactions are confirmed. Users are responsible for understanding the privacy implications of their cryptocurrency transactions.
